"Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2" is an upcoming third-person shooter video game from PopCap. It was announced during E3 2015 and is slated for release sometime 2016 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The announcement was surprising but it totally made sense.
According to Polygon, EA has claimed that more than 6 million people have played the predecessor "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare" and therefore, PopCap says that the feedback from those people are the reason why they are coming up with a sequel.
During the preview event in New York last week, the upcoming game's demo featured Graveyard Ops and the series' first ever four-player co-op mode. And for the first time ever in the who "Plants vs. Zombies series," the "Plants" will go on the offensive in an attempt to reclaim the suburbs that the zombies have rebranded as "Zomburbia."
Graveyard Ops reportedly is a fun spin off of the "Garden Warfare's" Garden Ops mode and in this mode, four people can play concurrently in the same room with their own TVs. Additional playing modes have been added into the sequel. For example, every mode in "Garden Warfare 2" can either be played solo against AI or in split-screen co-op with other players.
It looks like the success of "Plants Vs. Zombies" is encouraging PopCap and EA to further expand the game's brand.
In another news, EA is said to have partnered with Carowinds, North Carolina-based theme park, to bring to fruition "intra-active" 3D experience, "Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare: 3Z Arena." According to IGN, attendees will be placed in two teams as they compete with each other by shooting at big screens using toy blasters within a five-minute backyard battle.
Like the sequel to "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare", the 3Z Arena will happen in 2016. But unlike "Garden Warfare 2" which will be available in multiplatform, 3Z Arena will be exclusive to Carowinds.
