‘Law & Order: SVU’ Duggar-Inspired Story: Dark Secrets of a Scandalous Family

NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" is set to air an episode inspired by the Duggar family who's been making headlines over scandals that surround them.

The Duggar-inspired episode of "Law & Order: SVU" will be aired on Nov. 4 and an official promo trailer has been released. The segment is titled "Patrimonial Burden" and the synopsis reads, "The SVU investigates an unraveling web of secrets when the virtuous 13-year-old daughter of a famous reality TV family discovers she's pregnant."

As previously reported, the Law & Order showrunner Warren Leight talked about it in September. He said, "It never ceases to amaze me how stupid some men in power can be, and so we'll be writing about [that]. Over the summer, there were some very public stories about religious families with problems at their core, and we might take a look at that."

This episode will feature a family with 10 children, starring in a reality show called "Baker's Dozen." The promo clip shows the family getting off a bus with "Baker's Dozen" on it and the "B" actually looked like a "13." The Inquistr presumed that there are 13 children instead of 10. But it can also be presumed that the "dozen" includes the parents, and the "13" could pertain to the coming baby.

The clip shows the pregnant daughter reading a Bible and Michelle Duggar's stand-in saying, "We don't see it as a crime. We see it as a blessing." No mention of who's the father yet, but as the title of the episode suggests, it could be one of the secrets to be revealed.

The Duggar family had a reality TV show "19 Kids and Counting" which was cancelled in May following the eldest son Josh Duggar's admission of cheating on his wife and being addicted to pornography.
