‘The X-Files’ Spoilers: Creator Chris Carter Talks About What’s Next for the Series

"The X-Files" creator Chris Carter discuss about plans for the series now that the reboot has been made.

"The X-Files" creator Chris Carter is a busy man this year with the revival of his '90s hit television series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox first revealed its plans to revive the series in its TCA session in winter and later formalized its order in March. However, the shoot did not commence immediately as David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson were both busy with their respective commitments and there was no break in their schedules to squeeze in the filming of the show. It took a few more months before production began and after six weeks the pilot episode was debuted at the New York Comic Con and MIPCOM.

In the same report by The Hollywood Reporter, there are only three months left before "The X-Files" makes its official return on television. Promotional videos are everywhere online to generate buzz and there is no doubt that the pressure is on for the show to perform on its first airing. Carter answered some questions about what fans can expect next after the initial episodes of the return are aired.

On what appealed to him for using the kind of format the new episodes were shot in, Carter said he wanted fresh material and he does not want any talk about sequels. He said they were able to accomplish that and then some.

On being able to tell as much number of stories as he can within a six-episode time frame, he said they tried to make an arc with the four episodes in the middle able to stand on their own as far as storytelling goes. He also revealed that the first and last episodes are actually one single episode split into two.
