Looks like, Grammy award winning singer, Norah Jones, didn't "Feel like home" at her 62 Cooper Square residence in Lower Manhattan, New York City. Jones has sold the place for $6.7 million.
According to public records, Jones purchased the home for around $2.3 million sometime back in 2003, and has now managed to sell it off for a good $4.4 million profit. The home has probably sold off as no listing pictures and sale details have been made public.
Curbed.com reports that Jones owned the residence along with her ex-boyfriend, Lee Alexander. The only details known about the residence is that it sits on the famous Carl Fischer Building. Currently there are three active "for sale" listings and one active rental listing in the building.
Streeteasy.com describes the Fischer Building as:
62 Cooper Sq is one of the most prestigious Pre-War buildings in Downtown New York. The Carl Fisher built in 1926 and converted to condo in 2001 is a stunning beige-brick building and has a 24 hr doorman/concierge, large storage cages and roof deck. All of the 26 apartments have typical loft-like open layouts with high ceilings and lots of big multi-paned windows.
The building located just across from Cooper Sq Park and walking distance to SoHo, Greenwich Village, Union Sq. and East Village plus Subway, 6, N, R and W within a few steps. The exciting Washington Sq. Park, some of New York's best restaurants and 4 major gyms within 3 block radius add to the convenience.
Jones has multiple Grammys to her credit. In an interview with Times Talks she talks about how she caught on to music and first started learning by imitating other artists' songs. Check out the interview, below.
The musical gene runs in the family. Jones is the daughter of late sitar maestro, Ravi Shankar, who passed away in December 2012, just weeks before he could receive his "Lifetime Achievement" Grammy. Jones and her half-sister, Anoushka Shankar, who is also a famed sitarist, accepted the honour on behalf of their father.
