Justin Bieber certainly made a big come back after dominating with five wins during the MTV's 2015 Europe Music Awards. The star-studded event was held Sunday at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan.
According to Yahoo! News, the awards night was gracefully hosted by Ed Sheeran and "Orange Is The New Black" star Ruby Rose. Ed told the crowd during the beginning of the show, "I'm very excited to be here, Italy is one of my favourite countries... it's nice to be hosting a show here."
Justin was in tight competition with Taylor Swift who had nine nominations but she only won one award and that is for Best Song. Bieber was named Best Male, Best Worldwide Act: North America, Best Look, Best Collaboration and lastly, he also got the Best Fans Award.
When Justin accepted his first award he gave a heart-warming speech and said, "Wow, thank you. It's been a long couple of years, um, I just feel like this is pretty awesome to be recognised for my music." He continued and said, "I just want to say thank you to all of my fans, you guys are really incredible. I want to thank you mom and my dad, and God, and everyone who helped me get to this place. I love you, thank you."
Justin also performed his ballad hit single "What Do You Mean" on the Milan stage.
According to Variety, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis opened the show. They performed their award-winning song "Downtown," which later on got them the Best Video.
Another memorable performance of the night was also by Andrea Bocelli performed his classic "Time To Say Goodbye." It has been reported that it was the first time for the Italian performer to attend the EMA.
Pharrell Williams was the closing act of the night as he performed his hit track "Freedom."
