Premier League Standings and Transfer News: Pep Guardiola to Replace Jose Mourinho as Chelsea's Manager; Mourinho Confident He Will Not Be Sacked Despite Current Team Standing

Jose Mourinho, who was once labeled by critics as a "master strategis," was observed to be in a meltdown following a red card and defeat against West Ham United Football Club over the weekend. It was said that Mourinho confronted referee Jon Moss during the half-time with regards to the two yellow cards for Nemanja Matic and a disallowed goal for Cesc Fabregas.

According to telegraph, after the said confrontation "Moss invited the manager into his officials' room and sent him off. Mourinho watched the second half from the West Ham directors' box, which celebrated loudly when Andy Carroll scored a 78th-minute winner."

To somehow emphasize his disdain over what transpired, Mourinho refused to talk to the press, thus leading to a possible Premier League fine. However, having a fine is the least of the worries of the Chelsea manager. For if rumors were true, due to the lack of significant improvement, following a win, draw and now a lost, Mourinho may soon be replaced.

There are some rumors on the background that though Chelsea is still hopeful for some solutions from Mourinho, but intermediaries are already setting up some deals for Spanish manager. According to telegraph, Chelsea's owner, Roman Abramovich, is considering to enlist the help Pep Guardiola as manager if Jose Mourinho cannot showcase a major turnaround.

The idea of Mourinho being dismissed as Chelsea's manager is indeed more confronting than a Premier League fine. The speculation if indeed true would ultimately pose more questions and challenges for both Mourinho and the team. One big question to consider is who could immediately fill in the space to be left by Mourinho while deals are being set-up for his possible replacement, Pep Guardiola. If predictions are indeed true and the Chelsea club decides to make some changes, then options would definitely be limited.

But still despite the said speculations and projections, "Mourinho has claimed that he will not be sacked if Chelsea finish mid-table, but that is an optimistic prediction with Abramovich likely to act as soon as he genuinely feels that Champions League qualification is at risk," said telegraph.

The tactical genius of Mourinho is indeed being challenged with the current performance Chelsea and its players. However, it is still early to predict the outcome, for knowing Mourinho who sticks on the idea that, "Winning is not the only thing that matters, but it is certainly the most important," Chelsea is expected for a big comeback.
