Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update: Samsung Galaxy S5, S6, Note 4 and Note 5 Comes with this Android OS

When Google officially announced the final version of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Nexus devices were the first to receive the new update. Other devices are expected to upgrade to the new OS in the coming months.

Since the final code of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow has already been released, Samsung can now start working on the OTA update for its devices such as Galaxy S5, S6, Note 4 and Note 5. There is still no estimated time when this update will come to your device, as it will depend on things such as the region where you live in or what carrier your device is connected to.

Usually, you will get a notification when a new Android OTA update is available to your device. If you don't get it and would like to know if the update is now available, you can check it by going to your device's Settings->About Phone->System Updates->Check now for update.

According to Neurogadget, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow offers many new features such as the new app permission system and the Doze app, which improves the battery life of the device. It will also make the Google personal assistant even smarter with the "Google Now on Top" feature, which allows the assistant to see relevant information about what's on your screen without leaving the application.

The probable release date of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S5, S6, Note 4 and Note 5 devices may be by the end of 2015 or in early 2016.

Android News said that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S5, S6, Note 4 and Note 5 comes with few new features and improvements. The update also introduces the native fingerprint reader support and Deep Linking. All of the flagships of Samsung that come with fingerprint readers will bring in-app sign-ins besides mobile payments and the lock screen security.

The update also comes with Samsung's native applications like UI tweaks and changes to fit the new granular app permission system.
