Part of Original Playboy Mansion in Chicago Up for Sale at $7.85 Million

While the Playboy "Bunny Hutch" is already on the listing market with an $11 million price tag, another vintage piece of real estate from the "Playboy" assets has hit the market. A condo, which was once a part of the original Playboy Mansion in Gold Coast, Chicago has been listed for $7.85 million.

The original Playboy Mansion was located in Chicago. Hefner purchased the home in 1959. He kept moving from the Chicago home to the Playboy Mansion West in Los Angeles from time to time. Hefner entertained many affluent people in the mansion including President Theodore Roosevelt. He had to make a move after a friend's death and constant drugs investigations.

In 1984, he permanently shifted base to the current mansion and donated the Chicago place to the Art Institute of Chicago, reports Chicago Now.

The Chicago mansion was later split and converted into seven condominiums, two of which sold for $5.2 million and $2.3 million (list price) in 2012, respectively. The place definitely oozes the luxury and charm of a high-end home.

According to the listing records, the condo is a 9000 square feet residence comprising of five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. It was built in 1897 for a famous doctor in Chicago. Interiors of the home have vaulted cathedral ceilings with hardwood flooring. Wood framed glass doors and windows allow ample light and air into the residence.

The listing describes the home as:

Beautifully and completely renovated; this is truly the most wonderful house on the market. Ready to move in, no expense has been spared. Elegance, light open spaces, wide hallways, tall ceilings, architecturally and historically significant, yet perfectly suited for today's lifestyle. Elevator. Huge Kitchen/Family Room. Though he now has a shiny new residence, the couple still live at the Playboy Mansion, which Hefner rents for around $70,000 to $1.4 million annually. The residence has grabbed the first position on Fansshare.com's list of "Top 10 celebrity Homes".
