Sheryl Crow Pricechops Los Angeles Home; Now Asking $12.4 Million

Pop singer Sheryl Crow has knocked off a plum $3 million from the asking price of her home in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, and has now listed it for $12.4 million. The home has been sitting unclaimed since October 2012 when it debuted with a $15 million price tag.

According to the Daily Mail, this is not the first pricechopper for the home. Apparently, Crow reduced the price to $13.9 million in January. Failing to sell even then, the price has been slashed.

Crow purchased the property in 1993 for around $16 million.

The residence is spread over an expanse of 11 acres. The gated property has three early century styled homes. The main house comprises of 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms that have all undergone renovation. The home features beamed ceilings and Spanish tiled flooring. A gourmet kitchen and a modern wine cellar are some of its exquisite culinary features. The home also consists of a cozy study/library and a charming music room. Opening toward the back are beautiful gardens that have a stone fireplace and a barbecue.

The other unit on the property is a 3 bedroom-3 bathroom cottage that Crow used as a guest house. Another sprawling bungalow comprising of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms has brilliant white oak flooring. A claw-foot bathtub adorns one of the two bathrooms as well.

The homes also offer scenic views of the hills and ocean. Crow lived in the place for 20 years before she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She allegedly packed up and moved to Tennessee. Though she still lives there, that property is also on the listing market for $5.8 million.

The home appeared in the March 2011 issue of the Architectural Digest. Check out the pictures of the residence, here.

Currently, Crow is gearing up for the release of her debut country album titled "Feels like Home". When she moved to Nashville, other singers like Brad Paisley had encouraged her to take up the genre after 20 years of pop. Talking to inforum.com about the new music, she said:

"The country format has changed, and I'm enjoying it. I'm the new kid at school."

Further commenting on the album that is slated for a September 10 release, she adds:

"The first single ('Easy') sounds like me. Songwriting-wise, this is the best record I've made. I've written about things as a single mom and time away from your kids. Some songs are very country, some are middle-of-the-road. There's some fun songs, too."
