There are at least 43 million American renters, and one of them is Nick Jonas. What is more interesting is the fact that his landlady is none other than Ellen DeGeneres.
Apparently, famous people can also be landlords to other famous people with the likings of Ellen DeGeneres and Nick Jonas. The real estate connection was revealed during Jonas' appearance on The Ellen Show on Thursday.
"I am your landlord," she said, both to him and the audience. "You're a good tenant; you pay rent on time."
"It's an amazing thing," he responded. "Thanks for letting me stay in your house. It's great."
It may be an amazing feeling to stay in another famous personality's house that is fully furnished. But it has its drawbacks such as messing with the furnishings like ones owned by Ellen - especially when she asks you about it on National TV with millions watching the show.
"I left a lot of stuff there-are you taking care of it?" she asked Jonas.
"I think so," he said. "Everyone that comes to my house uses coasters. So there are no rings on the tables." Then he thought for a minute and added, "Not that I know of."
But he admitted he is anxious about staying in Ellen's house.
''I'm so nervous though the whole time I'm there because I know I'm gonna come on the show and check in and if anything's wrong with the house it's bad,'' he said.
But DeGeneres didn't seem to make a fuss about it.
"Well, I got a healthy deposit," said DeGeneres.
Just in case, DeGeneres gave him a set of "Ellen" coasters and some plastic-wrapped couches to take home.
Nick Jonas is currently starring on two television shows and is also on tour promoting his latest album. Yet, as Ellen stated, he has always the time to pay his rents.
