'Kingdom Hearts 3' Update: Black Clothing and Delayed Release Explained

The upcoming RPG from Square Enix, "Kingdom Hearts 3," together with "Final Fantasy 15" are in the top 10 most wanted games of Famitsu.

A recent Famitsu list that was published in Nintendo Everything, "Kingdom Hearts 3" is at the 8th spot, with 324 votes, in terms of being the most anticipated games after a survey was conducted between Sep 10 and Sept 16. Moster Hunter was first on the list with a total of 848 votes.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Final Fantasy 15" fans are surprised when Noctis and his friends were all recently featured donning black costumes. According to Gaming Bolt, says that the reason for that has been explained by Game Director Hajime Tabata in the official game forums.

As written in the forum, (translated) "The clothing worn by the four main characters is the official battle gear of the Kingdom of Lucis. Noctis is a member of the royal family and the other three characters are parts of various Lucian national organizations and they are each wearing the specific battle dress relevant to their individual stations."

Surprisingly, the outfits have more than just aesthetic reasons. The black outfits are actually official battle suit. That is one big revelation from a game that has a "to be announced" release date.

For a while now, fans have been impatiently waiting for an announcement about the official release date for "Kingdom Hearts 3". The game will be released for PS4 and Xbox One therefore, fans are wondering why "Kingdom Hearts" skipped PS3. The last release, "Kingdom Hearts 2" was released in ten years ago for PS2.

In a recent interview with GamesTM, Square Enix Director Tetsuya Nomura has explained, "We needed to get our experience and polish our skills at creating Kingdom Hearts games so that there was a proper preparation for a big title like Kingdom Hearts 3. It just happened that this preparation took the life cycle of the PS3." The explanation sounds reasonable enough.
