“Days of Our Lives” (DOOL) might be welcoming a new cast for the show as speculations reveals that Michael Easton will be joining the soap opera as an older Tanner Scofield with an offer made by NBC to the actor. Said rumor was sparked with what he said during his exit interview for his role as Dr. Silas Clay on “General Hospital.”
When Easton was asked in an interview with Soaps In Depth, if he would consider an offer to play a role for “The Young and the Restless” or “Bold and the Beautiful” or maybe return to “Days of Our Lives” for Tanner's character, he responded saying, “Someone called and inquired, but I would have to think long and hard about it. I just want the next part to be the right part.”
Apparently, Easton didn't make the answer clear but rumors said that an agent reached out to Easton to return to the show as Tanner which he played from 1990 to 1992. As the ratings of the show are increasing, it would be the perfect time to bring back Michael Easton to his first soap, “Days of Our Lives.”
Easton could be a good fit as a doctor or a cop for the “The Young and the Restless” and might fit for a new character for the “Bold and the Beautiful,” Celeb Dirty Laundry reported.
But fans of “General Hospital” are hoping that Dr. Silas Clay, Easton's character in GH will be returned by the writers. As a matter of fact, an online petition is launched to bring Easton back to the show with nearly 15,000 signatures. Meanwhile, others expressed their support to the actor by tweeting with the hashtag #MichaelEaston.
When rumors emerged that the actor will be back to "General Hospital," the actor posted on Facebook according to Soap Opera Spy, saying, “MANY HAVE ASKED…Not sure how this rumor got started but I have not been within ten miles of the GH studio since I left in July. There were many questions about a recast or the use of a double but I have no information about any of that and you would have to ask the production. Thank you again for the kind words and for keeping me in your thoughts. Love, Michael.”
