Game developer Bethesda has confirmed on Tuesday that all versions of "Fallout 4" will be available pre-loading for Xbox One, PS4 and PC ahead of the game's release. Marketing executive Pete Hines announced the news via Twitter today, a report from Gamespot said.
"We can confirm that #Fallout4 will have pre-loading on Xbox One, PS4, and PC so you have a few days to download the game before 11/10," Bethesda said in a Twitter post.
"The exact day and time that pre-loading begins has not been announced. However, Hines said this should begin 'a few days' before the game's November 10 release date. Pre-loading has been a mainstay on PC for years now, though it's a relatively new feature for consoles. The appeal is that by pre-loading a game, you can start playing the second it officially unlocks," the report said.
According to VG247, "Fallout 4" file size is estimated to be a massive 28 GB. However, it was noted that the game's file size is smaller compared with other games available in the market today. Players who want to buy a physical copy of the game will have to wait a little longer, however.
Bethesda has yet to announce specific details about the game's physical copy. Hence, players are advised to buy instead the digital copy of the game so that they can pre-load ahead of time.
"Those who have already pre-ordered their digital versions of Fallout 4 for the Xbox One will not only be able to pre-load the sequel, but they'll also be privy to the bonus of a free copy of Fallout 3, courtesy of the backward compatible set-up for the next-gen system. And even though Bethesda's partnered with Microsoft to provide its console with the largest amount of Fallout-themed loot-most notably the bundle for the Xbox One-PS4 and PC players aren't being completely left out in the cold," Gamerant said.
