'The Walking Dead' Season 6 Episode 3: Did Glenn Really Die? Lauren Cohan and Producer Speak Up!

Three episodes into its sixth season, "The Walking Dead" gave its most shocking and horrifying episode last Sunday, Oct. 25.

The first part of the episode saw the Rick (Andrew Lincoln) leading the survivors back to Alexandria and fighting a lot of walkers along the way. But the real highlight of the whole episode was its last two minutes.

Nicholas (Michael Traynor) and Glenn (Steven Yeun), in their mission to set a fire to distract the horde of walkers, found themselves on top of a container dump, surrounded by the biggest throng of zombies. While the undead gnashed and clawed with intense passion, the scene slow-motioned for Nicholas. He hopelessly looked into Glenn, muttered a "thank you," and shot himself in the head.

In a tragic turn of events, Nicholas' falling body pulled Glenn to the ground, where he was quickly clobbered by the zombies. Viewers saw Glenn, who didn't pull the trigger and didn't want to die, shouting in agony as the walkers pounced on what could be assumed were his innards. The scene zooms out until only zombies can be seen in the frame.

And while there is absolutely no way anyone can survive that zombie attack in real life, fans of the show cling to the hope that Glenn is still alive. Lauren Cohan, who plays Glenn's wife in the show, revealed to Hollywood Life that she knew if Glenn does survive or not.

"We get warning, we get told, so we're not finding out as we're reading a script," she said.

As to how her character will be affected by Glenn's presumed death, she said that she's excited for what's to come. "Whatever is good for story at this point. Maybe I wouldn't have felt that way before because I hadn't had a chance to explore Maggie and obviously there's always so much to explore, but I feel really excited about the journey she's on," Cohan shared. "I feel excited about the scope of story in this show, and big scope requires big events. That's how I look at it."

Meanwhile, executive producer Scott Gimple told Hollywood Reporter that dead or alive, Glenn is still part of the show.

"We will see Glenn, some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn, again, either in flashback or in the current timeline. We will complete the story," he said.
