As reported, Gilmore Girls is being revived by Netflix via a 90-minute episodes or mini movies which is unusual for a TV show continuation.
According to TVLine, "Well, according to insiders, each episode will represent a different season over the course of one calendar year. In other words, there will be a fall chapter, a winter chapter, a spring chapter and a summer chapter. ("Winter, spring, summer or fall... all you have to do is call... ")"
For the entire revival, AS-P and executive producer Daniel Palladino will be writing and directing the revival which is set to happen in the present day which is roughly eight years after the series has ended.
As for the casting, the negotiations are still going on for the primary characters. Some of the artists who are on the negotiation table are Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson.

Gilmore Girls is an American comedy-drama series created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, starring Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel. It debuted on October 5, 2000.
The story was about single mother Lorelai Gilmore (Graham) and her daughter, also named Lorelai but who prefers to be called Rory (Bledel), living in the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, just 30 minutes away from Hartford, Connecticut.
According to Wikipedia, "Gilmore Girls is known for its fast-paced dialogue filled with pop-culture references. The show earned several award nominations, winning one Emmy Award. It was also critically acclaimed placing No. 32 on Entertainment Weekly 's "New TV Classics" list, and was listed as one of Time magazine's "All-TIME 100 TV Shows" in 2007."
It also bagged several awards such as an American Film Institute Award in 2002 and an Emmy Award in 2004. Moreover, the actors were applauded and received awards from Family Television Awards, Teen Choice Award and Young Artist Awards.
The fans have yet to wait for a comment from the representatives of Netflix and Warner Bros regarding the rebirth of the show.
