‘New Game!’ Manga Announced to have an Anime Adaptation

Shoutarou Tokunou's 'New Game' Manga has been announced to have an anime adaptation. Manga Time Kirara confirmed on their newest issue that the cute, video game industry 4-panel manga will be brought to life in our screens.

The manga focuses on a group of girls, especially Aoba Suzukaze, a fresh high-school graduate easily mistaken for a middle school student who, after her graduation, joined a game development company called Eagle Jump. To her surprise, it just so happens that the game that she loved so much when she was a grade schooler was made by her senior in the company. The story follows Aoba and her cute antics as she gets her way through work and as she deals with her rather wacky co-workers.

The 'New Game!' manga is a 4-koma format manga by Shotaro Tokuno that was published by Houbunsha in 2013 and serialized by Manga Time Kirara Caret. While it leans heavily on cuteness and more aesthetics, it also portrays how the video game industry works in a realistic yet light-hearted way.

There are still no specific details about the production that was made public during this time. The Manga Time Kirara Carat have fair shares of popular manga that were made into anime, such as Hidamari Sketch, Kill Me Baby and A-Channel.

Fans of the Manga are excited about the announcement of the anime adaptation, but they are somewhat a little concerned about the shortness of the story in the manga.

Manga enthusiast and user Anitay Kinji has speculations that the anime adaptation of the hit manga 'New Game' will only be a few minutes short.

"Having read what's been translated of the manga, I expect this to be a short-form series. Three, maybe five minute episodes. There just isn't enough content there to make a whole season of full-length episodes," said the commenter.
