There's speculation going around that Sony will make a surprise release of "No Man's Sky" this week. If this is true, the gaming world will definitely celebrate.
Sean Murray, Hello Games boss, has denied the rumors via his personal Twitter account. The origin of the speculation is the point that "No Man's Sky" is visible in its non-appearance in Sony's Paris Games Week events. Sony remained silent on the rumor when asked by VG247, which also says to have details about this week's "No Man's Sky" surprise from reliable sources.
There's also the element that a PSN launch today would go some manner to reduce the commotion for its competitors' big launch of "Halo 5," which releases at stores in midnight.
October 27th is the Sony Paris Games Week conference at 5:00 in the afternoon, U.K. time.
In June, Murray admitted that he almost disclosed the official launch date for "No Man's Sky" at E3, before he decided that it was not going to be the right move.
"We really wanted to announce a release date. It's really hard to explain," he stressed. "We want the game to be out. If we thought it was good enough we would release it. If we thought it was finished we would release it."
"We were going to announce a release date. There are reasons why we began to realise that it might not be accurate for some reasons outside of our control and I don't want the pressure of that, to be honest. You actually create people being upset with you, for announcing a release date and then changing it. It's the worst thing, like saying Christmas is the 25th of December and then changing it," Murray added.
