‘Scandal’ News Update: Stars Kerry Washington & Katie Lowes Will Produce a Nanny Dramedy for Shondaland

Scandal stars Kerry Washington and Katie Lowes will be taking the behind-the-cameras as they handle a new project for Shondaland.

The two actresses are the executive producers to an untitled dramedy, as posted by Variety, at ABC. The show will revolve around a circle of young nannies.

According to Variety, the project is an edgy comical upstairs-downstairs look at the madness of modern child-rearing which focuses on the group of nannies, a trio of interconnected families and their various support staffs, all trying to help the kids grow up when they haven't yet quite grown up themselves.

As for the script, Bess Wohl will be writing for the show. Moreover, she will also serve as an execuntive producer on some potential series from ABC Studios, along with Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Adam Shapiro, plus Washington and Lowes.

Shondaland seem to be busy this season as the nanny series is only one of the many projects in development. Not only that it is home to some of the ABC hit series such as "Grey's Anatomy," "How To Get Away with Murder" and "Scandal." It is also behind "Still Star-Crossed," a Romeo and Juliet follow-up series based on the 2013 book of the same name. A Catholic nun drama, a suburban singles comedy and a Baghdad-set military drama project are also in the works at the company. These potential series will be expected to show on ABC, as well.

The writer for the nanny series is well-credited for acting in "CSI: NY," "Bones" and "Private Practice." In addition, she also wrote the Broadway play "Small Mouth Sounds," which premiered in March.

Fans can expect more producing works for the Scandal stars, Washington and Lowes, if the nanny series will be a hit once it airs on TV.

What do you think of the concept of the nanny show that will be produced by Scandal actresses, Kerry Washington and Katie Lowes?
