American actor Michael C. Hall, best known for his role as Dexter Morgan in the popular series "Dexter", has listed his Hollywood home for $2.35 million.
The 4,600-square-foot compound is comprised of two structures: a four-bedroom main house with a library, media room, formal dining room and wine room, as well as a one-bedroom guest house that opens to a large open-air garden area. The house was owned by British actor Ronald Colman from 1927 until the 1940s.
According to reports, the actor sold a Hal Levitt-designed home last summer and then bought this Spanish revival home for $1.95 million. He was drawn to the house because of its "indoor/outdoor living experience."
"I felt transported to an Old World oasis and marveled that I was in the heart of Hollywood," Hall said about his first time at the home. "It's filled with surprises and an understated, earthy elegance ... I've never come across a home quite like it."
Prior to Hall's purchase of the property, its tennis court had been converted into an eco-friendly garden. The actor, who stars in the eighth and final season of Showtime's serial killer drama Dexter, will serve as an executive producer on an upcoming Showtime project based on Matthew Specktor's novel, American Dream Machine.
The actor has finished filming for the series as the last episode of Dexter aired August 25. Talking to Huffington Post about his last few days of filming, the actor said, "The last day was - I mean, there was such a series of lasts over the past couple of weeks. You know, different people had their last days at different times. But the very last day was I don't know, a combination of pride and sadness, wistfulness, and relief, and vague depression."
"It's been eight years of all of our lives; cast, crew, and beyond, and there's a collective sense of a major end, a major transition, but also a new beginning for all of us," he said.
