Is Blue Jays’ Jose Reyes Buying a New York Mansion?

Rumor has it that the Toronto Blue Jays' shortstopper, Jose Reyes is reportedly buying a plush mansion in Old Brookville, Long Island, New York. According to several news sources, the baseball star is about to buy a residence in the area and is quite serious about the home.

Inside sources whispered to the real Estalker that Reyes will be buying the 7699 square feet, red brick and stone shingled mansion in the area. Listing records state the price of the home to be $4.6 million. The listing also states that the home has six bedrooms and six full and two half bathrooms.

Photos of the mansion display tastefully done-up interiors. The home features hardwood flooring, French doors and windows and tray ceilings. Living spaces include large living and formal dining rooms. The place also has a private sitting room, a panelled library and a modern kitchen with an adjoining breakfast room. A game room, a wine cellar, a bar, a small fitness room and a basement are some of its other features.

Outside, the residence has a large 'football-field' sized backyard and ample parking space.

Reyes also owns another property in Manhasset, New York, which he purchased in 2007 for about $3.25 million. This particular deal seems like an upgrade.

According to Realtor.com:

Reyes can certainly afford to splurge on real estate; the four-time All-Star signed a six-year, $106 million contract with the Miami Marlins before being dealt to the Blue Jays this past offseason.

More recently, Reyes grabbed headlines after he was called for obstruction. The Toronto Blue Jays lost 5-0 to Kansas City Royals at the Rogers City Center game on Sunday, reports The National Post.
