The hit supernatural drama "From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series" has been renewed for another season, El Rey Network announced on Monday.
"From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series," inspired by Robert Rodriguez's 1996 Miramax movie, is coming back for a third season.
"I'm so friggin excited that we are moving forward with another season of 'From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series,'" Rodriguez said, according to Variety. "This show has a passionate following, and I just love making it and directing episodes. We have a killer cast and the characters have gotten even more layered and magnetic and I can't wait to take this story even further."
"Renewing the show for a third season seemed only natural given the tremendous team involved, led of course by Robert Rodriguez, [showrunner] Carlos Coto, our stellar cast, and our fascinating 'Dusk' universe that is like a never-ending well for unique storytelling," said Zanne Devine, executive vice president of film and TV at Miramax.
"From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series" follows the brothers Seth Gecko (D.J. Cotrona) and Richie Gecko (Zane Holtz). Stars also include Jesse Garcia, Eiza González, Wilmer Valderrama, Madison Davenport, Brandon Soo Hoo, Jake Busey, Danny Trejo, Esai Morales, Jeff Fahey and Briana Evigan.
Demi Lovato guest starred in the last two episodes of the second season in a role specifically created for her. Zap2It reported that executive producer Diego Gutierrez explained, "When we realized that we had the opportunity to work with Demi, we basically took this role which was just going to be the role of a helper, part of the crew that Carlos (Wilmer Valderrama) was building - we really expanded on that character and created Maia."
"Maia brought a whole new color to the show. Not just the character, but the way that Demi played it, the way that Demi looks, everything that she brings to the role really gelled well with this character of Maia who would stand up to the queen at the end of the day, simply because she is devoted to her man," he added.
"From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series" Season 2 aired its finale on Oct. 27.
