Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are officially divorced after two years of marriage since the two has many differences and Martinez has anger and temper issues.
Berry, 49-year-old said that the decision was mutual and that the couple are still friends.
"It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce. We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son. We wish each other nothing but happiness in life and we hope that you respect our and, most importantly, our children's privacy as we go through this difficult period," a joint-statement said according to Mirror.
Since Martinez assaulted and had beaten a man in LAX that resulted in lawsuit, it was reported that the couple had been fighting more than ever. It was even rumored that the two are no longer living together even prior to the divorce, Celeb Dirty Laundry reported.
“We’re told Halle cited irreconcilable differences. As for money, we’re told it’s not an issues because the couple had a prenup," TMZ reported adding that the divorce will be quick because there will be no money issues.
Reason for divorce is personality differences since it was reported that the two claimed that "they're just very, very different people." Aside from that, the incident from LAX also added to the cause of the couple's rift.
As for their two year old son, Maceo, Berry is not asking for joint or primary custody. Rather, she would decide on what is "the best interests of the child." Aside from Maceo, Berry also has a seven-year-old daughter Nahla with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, of which she still battling for custody.
Berry began dating with the Martinez in 2010 after they met on the set for the movie Dark Tide in South Africa. They were engaged in March 2012 and married a year later in France.
