Neil Patrick Harris Finally Finds Brownstone in Central Harlem for $3.6 Million

Neil Patrick Harris, who is perhaps best known for playing 'Barney' in popular sitcom "How I Met Your Mother," has reportedly purchased a five story brownstone in Central Harlem, New York, for around $3.6 million. He had been looking for a place in the area since March 2013, according to several news reports.

Harris's new home is an 8000 square feet residence, comprising of five bedrooms and five bathrooms all spread across the five floors. The home has two terraces and a backyard too. Interiors of the home feature mixed flooring and high ceilings. The living room has wooden pillars and all the floors can be reached via wooden staircases.

Apparently, Harris was looking for a home in the area for a very long time. He even went public with his home hunt inquiring on twitter if anybody knew of a brownstone townhouse in the area.

"Looking to buy a brownstone in Harlem. Figured someone on Twitter might wanna sell. Any takers?" he tweeted in March.

Now that Harris has found his dream house, he is gearing up to host the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards slated to air September 22 on CBS. Harris last hosted the Emmy's in 2009. He even won himself two Emmys for his special emceeing skills.

So how hard does our Barney have to work to make his charm work on stage?

"Awards shows are just interesting as a host because you have to be both entertaining and very self-effacing. The whole point of awards shows is to listen to other people get awards. So your job is really interesting because you want to welcome everybody, include them, kind of impress them, and then sort of vanish," Harris said to CBS News when asked about hosting a show.
