David and Victoria Beckham's London pad is still currently under renovation despite reports that the couple is having marriage problems.
Plans of the house were revealed showing that it will have a cinema room with retractable cinema screen as well as a basement pool. The project includes the enlargement of the lower ground floor wine cellar. Two bathrooms were re-configured while a guest bathroom on the third floor was removed to extend the bedroom and sitting area.
Renovation of the £31.5million property costs £5million and is set for completion next year, Mail Online reported. When the newly renovated home is done, it will feature six-bedrooms, a gym, study, office, playroom, cinema and large drawing room.
The first level of the house will belong to the couple and has a spacious bedroom, bigger dressing room and an en-suite bathroom. It will also contain a study room, which was at first supposed to be a manicure room. This "private floor" will mean that the kids will not be able to get into the couple's bedrooms easily.
Designer Rose Uniacke was hired for the project which includes "internal alterations at all levels" for the home the couple bought in September 2013. The plans of the renovation were approved in February this year. The released plans of their detached Holland Park residence show how the home would look like after the completion of the remodel.
Back in October 2014, photos of the Beckham's home was presented to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council showing a fixer-upper that would require plenty of decoration.
But according to estate agent Becky Fatemi, who runs Rokstone, the house will become a brilliant family home after the renovation saying, "The Beckhams' home has got very grand proportions, it is a trophy home. You don't get that many coming up for sale as many of these homes have been turned into flats."
"With planning on a home like this it is perfectly normal to take this long. The work will probably cost around £500 - £600 per sq/ft so it will cost around #5 million to do. When the work is done, it will be a brilliant home for a family. There are good schools in the area, there is the park and the Westfield is nearby. I am sure when the work it is complete, it will be in good taste and they'd look to get £4,000 per sq/ft for it," Fatemi added according to Mirror.
It is also reported that "Victoria hopes that moving into their 'perfect' family home will help glue them together, especially as they both have such hectic schedules."
