Avid fans and die-hard gamers of "Street Fighter V" have something to cheer about. This is after "Street Fighter V" producer Yoshinori Ono teased that there will be six upcoming playable characters in the game.
Ono shared this development during this year's Sony Paris Games Week media briefing. He did not reveal the names of the characters, but intsead, Capcom released a silhouette photo of them, a report from Gamespot said on Thursday.
"All of these characters will be available by using the in-game Fight Money -- a currency that can be earned simply by playing. Capcom reiterated they're moving away from doing large bundles of post launch content, such as the Super Street Fighter 4 and Ultra Street Fighter 4 upgrades, and will instead focus on continuously releasing new post launch content on a regular basis," Event Hubs reports.
It was said that Capcom has confirmed that the game's upcoming six characters will be released post launch in 2016. This means that the total number of playable characters in the "Street Fighter V" roster are now 22 by early 2017.
Meanwhile, Game Skinny reports that Capcom has introduced a new playable character named Dhalsim in the game. It was said that Dhalsim "grows a beard and demonstrates all the necessary techniques to be the game's first true zoner, along with modifications to his teleportation ability."
Listed below are some of Dhalsim's specialty moves.
- "Yoga Float: V-Skill allowing Dhalsim to float and thus making all airborne normal and specials available. He can move across the screen while in the air.
- Yoga Burner: V-Trigger allowing Dhalsim to spit up a carpet of flames. The flames sizzle and deal gray damage for a limited period of time while in direct contact with the opponent.
- Fireballs: Modified to allow a vertical toss in an arc rather than just a horizontal throw."
"The game's core roster stands at sixteen characters, making Dhalsim the second last reveal for the game's release. Speculation about the six new characters will fill in the gaps, giving players more to look forward to without the added consequence of extortion," the report noted.
