The hit action-comedy tank blasting anime series is now confirmed to be released in November after being postponed early this year.
Anime News Network reported that the official 90-second trailer for the film of the anime 'Girls Und Panzer' has been released by the anime's official website last Wednesday. In the trailer, it can be noted that the Second Battle of Ōarai City begins two years after the end of the earlier television series.
The early summer release of the 90-minute film 'Girls Und Panzer' was postponed in order to have time for more 30-minute scenes.
The new film was announced to be released in Japan on Nov. 21. There was also an announcement given by the official blog of 'Girls Und Panzer' that there would be a premiere event to be held on Nov. 20, the day before the film's release.
Shinjuku Wald 9 Theater in Tokyo will be hosting the event where all the cast are expected to appear. The event will also be live-streamed across 21 other theaters. Additionally, Niconico Streaming Service will run a marathon of the previous television series and original video anime project of 'Girls Und Panzer.'
The new theme song of the film "Glory Story" was performed by Choucho, who also performed the OP song for the 2012 TV series, "DreamRiser."
According to Crunchy Roll, all of the main staff, including director Tsutomu Mizushima, screenplay writer Reiko Yoshida, and character designer Isao Sugimoto, will reunite for the film project.
'Girls Und Panzer' began with a television series that premiered in 2012 and an all-new original video anime (OVA) entitled "Kore ga Hontō no Anzio-sen Desu!" (This is the Real Anzio Battle!), which premiered in Japanese theaters in July 2014.
The story is about high school girls who are practicing Sensha-do or the art of tank-combat, a traditional Japanese martial arts for girls, and competing against other schools.
