The buyer of a gorgeous and historic residence in Los Angeles has finally been identified by Lauren Beale in her article in the Los Angeles Times, and they are no other than the media heiress Lydia Hearst and her boyfriend, comedian Chris Hardwick. Bianca Barragan described in her article in Curbed LA that the landmarked Rossetti home in Los Feliz, also known as Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument No. 915, sits on a half-acre property and measures 8,240-square feet. It is a stately 1928 Spanish Colonial revival mansion, designed by Paul Williams for the prominent banker Victor Rossetti, and located in the Tony Oaks neighborhood. It is said to be the priciest house in the area with a price listing of $11 million.
According to Mark David of Variety, the three-storey main house features eight bedrooms, with eight full and two half bathrooms. Its entrance hall has terra-cotta tile flooring, while its beautifully proportioned living room has a coffered ceiling and a carved stone fireplace. Its "Corinthian columns" and sweeping staircase are considered trademarks of Williams. It has a panelled formal dining room, and a library/den with fireplace and built-in book cases. Its kitchen boasts modern stainless appliances, glass-doored refrigerator and built-in coffee maker.
The bedrooms on the upper floor include a staff bedroom and a spacious master suite with a small lounge, large bedroom chamber, a dressing room with its original wardrobe cabinets, a bathroom with vintage tiles and double sink vanity. On the lowest part of the mansion are the gym, wine cellar, family/media room. Outdoors, one can find a swimming pool and spa, an open air cabana with an outdoor fireplace, and a street-level two-car garage. The estate also has a trio of separate offices and guesthouses.
Hearst, a fashion model and actress, is the great granddaughter of publishing mogul William Randolph Hearst and daughter of the infamous Patty Hearst, whose 1974 kidnapping by the Symbionese Liberation Army made national headlines. Hardwick, on the other hand, is a voice actor, the founder of Nerdist Industries, and a former host of MTV's "Singled Out."
