Saturday Night Live Alumna Rachel Dratch Purchases Post-War Manhattan Co-op

Kathryn Brenzel reports in The Real Deal that Saturday Night Live (SNL) alumna and long-time resident of East Village, Rachel Dratch, has recently purchased a Gramercy Park co-op for $1.6 million. This apartment is located on the third floor of Rutherford at 230 East 15th Street. Forward says the place was previously two units in the 13-storey building. The apartment seller was Angela Klot, while the listing was handled by Sherri Polin of the Corcoran Group.

A description of the place in the co-op listing in the Corcoran website goes, "Watch Spring blossom from your own terrace overlooking historic Stuyvesant Park. This perfectly combined home (one bed + studio), in The Rutherford, features two huge bedrooms, separate windowed office and two full bathrooms. The open kitchen features white quartz countertops. The spacious master can easily accommodate a king sized bed and features a large walk in closet."

A continuation of the description goes, "A newly renovated bathroom shows off a carrera marble floor and Toto fixtures. 24 hour Laundry available and resident roof deck. Walk to every single thing Union Sq has to offer including Trader Joes, Whole Foods and all transportation. The full service doorman building also offers garage parking, and an on-site super."

Mark David gives additional details of the apartment in Variety by indicating that the co-op apartment is parquet-floored with a loggia overlooking the overlooks Stuyvesant Square. One of the rooms with a king-sized bed has a walk- in closet and a small office which may be used as a small private dressing room. The bathroom that opens to the L-shaped hall connecting the main living space to the bedrooms has hexagonal marble floor tiles and a glass-fronted walk-in shower.

Dratch was a cast member on SNL from 1999 to 2006 and was best known for her character, Debbie Downer, a perennial bearer of bad news. She also does voiceover for the animated series, "The Awesomes," and appears on quirky, comedian-driven sitcoms like "Difficult People" and "Inside Amy Schumer." She will be a part of next year's drag comedy "Hurricane Bianca."
