Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead has been given a six-episode travel series order from AMC which will feature motorcycle culture around the country.
The show that will be titled, 'Ride with Norman Reedus' hails from Left/Right Productions. And each episode runs for about an hour and will follow Reedus and a friend touring a different city via motorcycle and checking out bike shops, tattoo parlors, bars and restaurants frequented by chopper enthusiasts. Reedus' companions will range from actors and artists to local bikers.
The travel series is set to air in 2016. Executive producers for the series are Left/Right's Ken Druckerman and Banks Tarver.
"There is nobody more passionate about motorcycles than Norman Reedus," said Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV in a post by Variety. "He is an avid rider and aficionado who is deeply immersed in motorcycle culture. There is also nobody more fun to hang out with. This show will bring those two elements together for a weekly ride into the incredible world of motorcycles and the people who live and breathe them."
"Norman's interest in motorcycle culture and his natural ability to make friends wherever the road takes him are just two of the key ingredients that make this show so exciting for us," said Druckerman.
The series will be one of the many reality and unscripted series on AMC. And the current stature of Reedus as the prime star of the popular Zombie series, The Walking Dead, makes this new series, Ride, fit for AMC.
"I'm incredibly excited and thankful to AMC for giving me the opportunity to share a passion of mine with our fans, and hopefully a whole new audience. I had a lot of fun filming and exploring, and I hope it shows," said Reedus on a post in Variety.
What do you think? Will you be watching the series as it airs in 2016?
