The media mogul once again made the headlines as Oprah was approached by her "secret son" after leaving New York studios. As per Daily Mail, a truck driver by the name of Calvin Mitchell claimed that Oprah Winfrey asked his mother if the billionaire could adopt him.
During an interview with Radar, Calvin Mitchell openly shared his sentiments in regards to what happened.
"I want to ask Oprah, 'Why did you leave me? Why did you leave me?'"
"I'm still empty, I'm still searching. I don't have closure to this. I just don't understand. I was young. I made a dumb decision, and Oprah wouldn't forgive me, I feel like what she did was wrong."
Their relationship started when the 11-year-old Calvin Mitchell offered the media mogul a diet coke, in which she was touched be his kind act. Mitchell then narrated that Oprah Winfrey herself offered him a job to be her "personal bodyguard." He then stated that Oprah wanted him to be part of her family by asking his mother "Eva Mitchell" if she could adopt the boy.
"Oprah asked my mom if she could adopt me, and my mom denied her".
Eva Mitchell then shared her encounter with Oprah. She stated that she found it "strange" knowing for a fact that someone would want to help her in raising her kids, but she eventually denied Oprah with her plea as she wanted to have her family intact.
Eva then told the news magazine that even though she denied Oprah to adopt Calvin, Oprah's partner, Steadman Graham remained faithful in treating Calvin as his son.
"It felt strange because I felt if someone wanted to help me with my children, that's one thing. But to actually adopt one child knowing I have others? I couldn't allow her to separate my children. He used to take me to Chicago Bulls games, and we went to the black rodeo that he hosted every year, we had a close relationship".
