The Anglesey cottage that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middelton, rented before Prince George was born is reportedly up for rent, according to several news reports.
The house belongs to Lord and Lady Meryick. The farmhouse was intended for their son who moved elsewhere when Kate and William moved in. An inside source tells E News:
"The house was originally intended for Sir George Meryick's son but he moved along the coast when Prince William and Kate moved in. It's an absolutely beautiful spot, it's breathtaking up there. It has access to a private beach which nobody else could reach, onto the estuary...You could see the water from the bedrooms on the first floor, which look over the top of the outbuildings. The outbuildings surround a farmyard and you have to go through the farm yard to get down to the beach."
Apparently, William and Kate paid $1200 a month for the modest cottage. However, no asking price has been released for the four bed-two bath, two story residence yet. The royal couple have had a nice time in the area and hope to come back for vacations.
"This island has been our first home together, and it will always be an immensely special place for us both. Catherine and I look forward to returning again and again over the coming years with our family," Prince William said to Daily News.
Prince William has also resigned from his post of a Search and Rescue pilot to devote full time to his family, reports Telegraph.
William and Kate are leaving the area to move to their lavish apartment in Kensington Palace with their bundle of joy, Prince George. The apartment underwent a $1.6 million renovation while the couple lived in the Anglesey cottage.
Prince William will have an elaborate nursery in their new home. According to Décor and Style, the Duchess of Cambridge had hired designer Christopher Chanond to plan the nursery. Chanond apparently conjured up an "Around the World in Eighty Days" theme for the room.
