"Asus Zenwatch 2" is one of the smartwatches that looks elegantly like regular watches but have the great functionalities of a normal smartwatch. "Asus Zenwatch 2" was announced September 2015 and was available for release on the same month.
"Asus Zenwatch 2" Specs
"Asus Zenwatch 2" has a stainless steel build that is dust and water resistant for up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. It measures 45.2 x 37.2 x 11.8 mm and it has a 1.45 inches AMOLED screen with a 280 x 280 resolution. The watch's screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
"Asus Zenwatch 2" runs Android Wear OS and it is powered by Snapdragon 400 with a quad core 1.2 GHz Cortex A7 CPU and an Adreno 305 GPU. The internal memory is 4 GB and the RAM is 512 MB.
The smartwatch has no cameras and is WiFi and Bluetooth enabled. It has vibration, MP3 and WAV ringtones for its alert types and it comes with a loudspeaker. It has accelerometer sensors and it is SMS, email, and IM messaging enabled.
"Asus Zenwatch 2" uses a Li Ion 300 mAh battery and it comes in the colors of Gunmetal, Silver, and Rose Gold. The price is at around 170 Euro.
"Asus Zenwatch 2" may not be as advanced as the other recently released smartwatches but it is one stunning smartwatch with all the needed smartwatch features. Plus, it comes in a relatively affordable price. The biggest down side of the "Asus Zenwatch 2" is probably its lack of data support, you just gotta settle with its WiFi connectivity and its Bluetooth support.
But if you are willing to pay for a doubled price, you can go for the "LG Watch Urbane" with LTE. But looking at the affordability of the "Asus Zenwatch 2", and comparing it with the "Apple Watch Sport 42mm", it's easy to spot that the main difference between the two is the price, as the Apple watch also does not have a cellular data and it also doesn't have a camera but the price is 3x the Asus watch. However, the Apple Watch has a different glass protection and has a bigger internal storage.
