Liam Payne's ex-girlfriend Sophia Smith is reportedly blaming One Direction for their breakup.
According to Hollywood Life, another reason for the couple's split after two years of being together was because Smith wasn't ready to settle down with Payne.
"Sophia felt that their relationship was at a point where they either made a decision to get married and settle down, or they go on and do something else and experience more of the world. She chose the latter because she's still so young. Sophia has always been an independent woman and believes she has a lot to achieve," a source told the publication.
However, sources have clarified that Payne's British boy band doesn't have anything to do with their breakup.
Meanwhile, breakup speculations were initially thrown into confusion after a fake Instagram user claimed that she was Smith. At that time, the person created a post to dismiss reports that Smith and Payne have ended their relationship.
In other news, Mirror UK reports that Smith was Payne's childhood crush. Back in August 2013, the publication wrote an article linking the two with each other.
"Liam has really fallen for her. It's getting very serious, very fast. She's a sweet normal girl who likes Liam for who he is, not because he's in the most famous boyband in the world."
Before Smith, Payne was in a three-year relationship with Danielle Peazer. The couple officially split in April 2013.
Meanwhile, fans of Payne have been expressing their sadness over his breakup from Smith. One fan @irishknee wrote, "We love you Liam. Thank you for everything."
