'Bruce Campbell' Returns as 'Ash Williams' in 'Evil Dead' TV Series

After more than two decades, Evil Dead fans can now rejoice as Ash Williams will be back into the screens to fight off demons with his chainsaw hand and his "broomstick."

According to usatoday.com, Bruce Campbell will once again into an adventure with his chainsaw hands and trusty "broomstick" which is a shotgun. The new series will be produced by Starz and Bruce will be fending off demons with Lucy Lawless [Xena: Warrior Princess].

Campbell said that Ash in no wiser than his younger self even though many years have passed. He said "You find him [Ash Williams] in a trailer park. He's not doing really well. And he's 30 years older. This is really just not the guy who should be saving the world."

The series will be helmed by Spiderman director Sam Raimi and produced by Rob Tapert. The fans will also get other treats as the new franchise of Evil Dead will come with video games, comic books and a renewal of the series for its second season.

In a report by screenrant.com, Campbell shares how much happy he is returning as Ash Williams. He said "[It's] great to get back to this character. It's probably the most fun character there is to play. Now we can bring all of our experience to bear again and flesh him out even more... people have only seen four and a half hours worth of Ash... In this first season alone, we're going to do five new hours of Ash. [It's] a slightly different story in that the character has to evolve. The story has to get bigger. And I'm looking forward to that so that I can take enough time to finally be with Ash."

He also shared how much he hated fake blood even during the first Evil Dead films. He said that fake blood is "chronic. It gets everywhere." However, he still happy that he gets the chance to play his role again and he's happy to know that his fans are also waiting for his return.
