Nintendo has just released action-adventure game "The Legend Of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes" for Nintendo 3DS. Now fans of Zelda are asking about "The Legend Of Zelda" Wii U.
It has been a concern for some fans that the "The Legend Of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes" for Nintendo 3DS could have delayed the release of "The Legend Of Zelda" Wii U. The former has unique open world features. And even if both Zelda games are related in a certain way the progress of the former did not have any impact with the latter which is said to be still in development.
In an interview with GameSpot, franchise director Eiji Aonuma assured fans that, ""For this it was a separate team. I want to assure you that the Wii U Zelda was not delayed in any way because of Triforce Heroes."
His response is relief for Zelda fans who have begun to fear that "The Legend Of Zelda" for Wii U might have been cancelled already. Ever since Aonuma released the video in March 2015 explaining the delay of the Zelda Wii U, Nintendo has maintained a tight lid on the actual released date of the much awaited game. To make things worse, according to ShackNews, "The Legend Of Zelda" Wii U is still a "TBD" status in Nintendo's release calendar.
At least the interview with Aonuma confirmed that there is a team working on "The Legend Of Zelda" for Wii U and it was not cancelled. Now the question is when will Nintendo actually release the game.
There are still rumors that Wii U version of "The Legend Of Zelda" has been cancelled and Zelda is being held back for and readapted for the company's rumored next console which is said to have been codenamed NX, according to Design and Trend.
Again the interview with Aonuma confirms the game has not been cancelled, it is just that fans have no idea about what the company has in store for it. In another interview, the director might have given a clue with the open-world feature of the Zelda Wii U game when while talking about Skyward Sword he told IGN, "Unfortunately, I can't go into details but I'm hoping to put a surprise, or kind of a twist, on my view of an open world game. I hope that you'll look forward to it."
For now "The Legend Of Zelda" for Wii U is still delayed for 2016. In the meantime fans can try "The Legend Of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes" for 3Ds.
