Drake's "Hotline Bling" was released digitally as a single in July but it was in October when the music video was released that the song became a sensation. With more than 16 million views on YouTube, Drake's "Hotline Bling" has given rise to mostly anything Drake-inspired everywhere.
With just a few weeks after the music video became viral, IGN reportedly came up with a creative Avengers and Drake mashup, according to Metro. It looks like the original source of the video no longer exists but the video is still on YouTube uploaded by various accounts. Nevertheless, the video shows Drake dancing and how the Avengers supposedly is reacting. While most of them are stunned by his awesome moves, unfortunately the incredible hulk is obviously unhappy about it.
In another news, Justin Bieber has hopped into the "Drake" bandwagon. According to Consequence of Sound, numerous artists covered Drake's "Hotline Bling," including the tag team of Disclosure and Sam Smith, Alessia Cara, and Erykah Badu. But unlike the four artists, Justin Bieber used his own cellphone to cover the hit Drake song. He has even announced it via his official Twitter page. "Call me 231 377 1113 on my cell phone," the tweet said. For those who can't call Bieber's phone for some reason, you can listen here.
And like the Incredible Hulk, not everybody is happy with Drake's latest single. According to Billboard, Shelley Massenburg-Smith, the singer-rapper known as D.R.A.M. claims that Drake ripped off his single "Cha Cha." D.R.A.M. told Billboard, "I feel like my record got jacked."
The single "Cha Cha," that became viral, was the one responsible for D.R.A.M. landing a deal with Atlantic in June. It was also reported that Drake seemed to have acknowledged the similarity between "Cha Cha" and "Hotline Bling" in an interview with Fader. So far Atlantic reportedly has not made any comments about pursuing legal action.
