It is Halloween and "Bones" episode five for season 11 gets an exciting crossover visit from characters of the TV series "Sleepy Hollow." According to a Celeb Dirty Laundry recap, FBI agent Abbie Mills and Ichabod Crane is in town to visit The Jeffersonian. They are looking for a headless corpse that is said to be 200 years old. Unfortunately for them, Brennan, alongside her team, is already working on a case that is linked to the body the guests are looking for. They have no other recourse but to work together to answer all the questions surrounding the cadaver.

The finders of the body are two children who were having a great Halloween adventure that takes them to an abandoned church. They got their wish for horror when they discover a dead human being. Booth and Brennan receive the call to investigate which, much to their surprise, another dead body is discovered within the vicinity. This time it has no head and evidence points to the man being a soldier from the American Revolution. Further research tells them that the other dead body, Sarah Lippman who is a medical student was researching on the dead soldier's head who she believes can bring the dead back to life. This is where Mills and Crane steps in to fill in the gaps of the story.

In a post by Entertainment Weekly, Booth and Mills work together to investigate Sarah Lippman who turned out to be so fascinated with the idea of having the ability to crossover from the land of the dead back to the living. They discover that the skull of the soldier was used as the murder weapon and it was Sarah's boyfriend who did her in. Ichabod and Abbie was allowed to take the body back with them as soon as the case was wrapped up.
