The Beckhams Sell Beckingham Palace for $19.2 Million; Pooling Cash to Buy Central London Manse

Famous celebrity couple, David and Victoria Beckham have sold the Rowenbury House, nicknamed 'The Beckingham Palace' for about $19.2 million in a private deal, according to several news reports.

The couple had been trying to sell it off since April. Back then, it was reported that they wanted to sell the place exclusively to a private buyer rather than a random developer who would later tear the home down to build apartments in its place.

David and Victoria purchased the place, just three months after they got married in 1999 for about $2.5 million. They have made a solid profit off the sale and are reportedly pooling in money to buy a Central London mansion, reports The Daily Mail.

The couple's French holiday home was also sold in the transaction for about $4.1 million, reports The Real Estalker.

Back in March, several sources had touted David's hot wheels for sale. From the many cars that were offered for sale were his two Bentleys, a Lamborghini Gallardo, a BMW 645 and a Range Rover. His three Harley Davidson motorbikes were also being offered, according to The London Evening Standard.

The Beckingham Palace underwent major facelifts and renovation in the 14 long years. However, the Beckham family had to move around a lot due to soccer daddy's career.

The mansion is a huge residence spread on a 22-acre property. The Georgian-style home has a private helipad, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, a tennis court, a modern gym and numerous game rooms. The couple bought the residence after they got married in 1999 for around $3.8 million.

David was quite sad to let go of the home. A source told The Sun, "David in particular was desperately sad to sell the family home as there are so many memories.

"They have had years of happiness in the home, but practically now there is no need to keep it. It's the beginning of a new era for the family."

The Beckhams had been living in California for the last five years after David signed up with the L.A Galaxy club. They moved to London in January after his term with club ended and are renting out a place in Kensington since then.

The couple has already signed up their three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz in a school in London. Victoria has also found a suitable nursery for their one-year-old daughter, Harper. They currently have their eye on a four-story London property worth $112 million, reports The Herald Sun.

However, the family is keeping their Beverly Hills home. They hope on spending holidays in California.
