‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ Recap: ‘Devil’s Night’

"American Horror Story: Hotel" episode four is called "Devil's Night" and the show's theme centers on a Halloween Night gathering and on the issue of how parents react to the loss of their kids.

"AHS: Hotel" opens episode four with Liz Taylor acting as gracious host to serial killer and rapist Richard Ramirez. According to The Wall Street Journal Taylor shows the maniac, who died in 2013, to his room where Mr. March has prepared a "treat" for him. The "treat" is a couple staying for the night to which Ramirez declines to use the door keys provided by Taylor so he can use the window instead. True to his sadistic and evil nature, Ramirez kills the husband by bashing his head on the bed and then turns to his wife to violently rape her. She finds away to escape the devil's clutches but not for long. Mr. March soon finds her and holds her down while Ramirez finishes what he started.

Meanwhile, the cleaning lady at Hotel Cortez narrates what happened to her son Albert Evers. Albert wanted a nice Halloween getup but his mother Hazel just made him go treat or treating as a ghost using a blanket with two eyeholes. Unfortunately, the Chicken Coop Killer struck and snatched poor Albert to be his victim. This narrative explains why the cleaning lady has a hard time washing off dried blood from a sheet at the hotel.

Ina post by IGN, the Hotel Cortez holds this annual tradition of gathering notorious killers in history who were all taught at some point by March. He has worked with each one of them all throughout their years of wreaking fear and horror to mankind. They all honor him during this time of the year. This is one particular episode that none of the storylines in the past episodes are deeply affected.
