"Batman" will have a new movie coming after the release of "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" and rumors are already rife about who the caped crusader is going up against in Ben Affleck's first solo movie as the dark knight.
"Batman vs. Superman" the movie is still months from its announced release but talks are already in full gear about a solo "Batman" movie for Affleck. According to Slashfilm, Warner Bros. Pictures is fully committed to push through with plans to expand the DC Comics universe in films just like its rival Marvel is doing. Therefore it is not out of the question for rumors and speculations to pop up about upcoming "Batman" films.
In the same report from Slashfilm, there are talks about "Batman" facing off with two villains. While it is not new for the franchise, it is intriguing to note that one of the projected nemeses of the hi-tech hero is not a familiar one with many fans. The Joker is coming back and everyone knows him, even those who are not hardcore fans of the masked crusader. The other villain being floated around is Red Hood who is rarely, if at all, mentioned in the same breath as many of Batman's arch-rivals.
Red Hood is actually Jason Todd who moonlighted as Robin, Batman's lieutenant. He appeared as the second version of the character in the comics. He was then killed by The Joker in the 1988 issue called "A Death in the Family." He came back as Red Hood after he was brought back to life with the help of the Lazarus Pit. Red Hood was originally an identity that The Joker first assumed. Should the rumors turn out to be true, Red Hood will probably be doing a sabotage of Batman's image by making people believe he is the dark knight; he will then make people believe that Batman is capable of doing crime after all.
