Nintendo Amiibo Update: 21 Million Sales; Thanks to 'Super Smash Bros,' 'Super Mario' 30th-Year Collectibles; Toys' Roster include 'The Legend of Zelda,' 'Pikachu'

Nintendo has sold 21 million Nintendo Amiibo figurines.

Nintendo, the giant company behind some of the most awesome and memorable game consoles and titles such as Wii U and "The Legend of Zelda," has recently made a statement that they now have sold over 21 million figurines of the Nintendo Amiibo, their newest toy product, as revealed on the company's most up-to-date earnings report.

Nintendo's sale of Amiibo has skyrocketed since the company's previous fiscal year, GameSpot reported. From 10.5 million dollars, it went up to 21 million, and will probably go up higher due to the continuously increasing demand.

"Super Smash Bros" is the main star of these huge sales, as well as the "Super Mario" 30th anniversary collectibles, which the company shipped in the United States. Without a doubt, it is the biggest market in the world for the Amiibo merchandise.

"The [American] market still holds more than half of the total sales but you can tell from the graph that regions other than the U.S., where toys-to-Life products had a late release, are gradually expanding," says Tatsumi Kimishima, the President of Nintendo, via GameSpot.

Amiibo Toys' roster, on the other hand, was shared to the U.S. market. "The Legend of Zelda" has ranked number one on the list. It was then followed by Mario from the "Super Mario Bros" game, then the adorable Pikachu from "Pokemon," followed by "Princess Zelda." Next was the "Animal Crossing Cards - Series 1", Luigi from "Super Mario Bros," the animated version of Link or "Toon Link," "Bowser," "Sonic," and "Princess Peach."

Amiibo was first released by Nintendo this year along with "Super Smash Bros 4" for the Wii U platform, which turned out to be a hit to many gamers across the globe. Ever since then, the toy product line had become a big hit, BBC News reported.
