Movie and video game fans will be disappointed to learn that the release of "Warcraft" movie has been moved to June 2016 instead of March.
Fan Sided earlier reported that Universal Pictures announced that "Warcraft" movie will be released in June next year to avoid competition from other films. Director Duncan Jones took the delay positively and announced on his Twitter account that the "Warcraft" movie will now become a summer flick.
Originally, the movie was set to be released December of this year, but because of the announcement of "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" release date, the studios decided to wait until March 2016.
However, it was also reported that other big movies will also be released in March 2016 like "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "The Divergent Series: Allegiant Part 1," which is why the company decided to move the movie's release date to June 2016. The production promises fans that they will get the best out of the movie as it was reported that it is highly CGI-filled and the people behind are is also the ones in charge of the "Star Wars" CGI.
Meanwhile, Crossmap reports that Jones also talked about the possibility of having sequels for the movie. It was revealed that the first movie will not be concentrating on the conflicts between the humans and the orcs but will focus instead on the introduction of the characters and their storyline.
In an interview, Jones said that his job in the first film is to establish certain characters and culture that will make the audience more excited, and if he does a great job with it, hopefully people will want to see more of them. He added that sequels will depend on how the audience like the first film.
"Warcraft" movie is scheduled to be released on June 10, 2016.
