Looks like, the Diamonds World Tour has really paid Rihanna, the 'We Found Love' singer, a lot of money. She has reportedly purchased a water-front mansion in Barbados for $22 million and is currently also renting an apartment in Manhattan for $39,000 a month, according to several news reports.
The Barbados mansion is the same house Rihanna and her family rented in the summer of 2012. Apparently, she loved the villa so much; she thought she'd rather buy it. According to the Daily Mail, the 10,000-square-feet home is a five bedroom- five bathroom home, located just a stone's throw away from Sandy Lane Hotel, the five-star resort on One Sandy Lane.
The home has a grand lobby, sweeping staircases, numerous verandas, a private gym, a large pool and 24/7 concierge service and security-operated by the Sandy Lane Resort hotel staff, reports News.com.au.
Rihanna always returns to her native place, Barbados, for Christmas. In 2012, Rihanna gifted her mother a five bedroom home. However, now the family will spend holidays in her new home.
News of the purchase comes just days after a trespasser tried to break into Rihanna's Pacific palisades home. The man was arrested by the police for trying to trespass into her home. Earlier, a group of burglars also tried to break into the house but were thwarted by the security alarms of the plush home.
An insider said to TMZ that Rihanna hasn't visited the property for over two months. The source also added that she wanted to get away from the crime-infested neighbourhood. Moving trucks were spotted taking away stuff from the house.
So where is Rihanna moving? While some say she is shifting to another house in Los Angeles, others say she will be spending most of her time in New York, which is probably true.
According to the New York Daily News, Rihanna is renting a posh duplex penthouse in Manhattan for about $36,000 a month. The apartment has four bedrooms and three full and one half bathroom. A large 2400-square-feet terrace provides for stellar views of the world Trade Center. The residence is still up for sale and sports a $14.6 million price tag.
While Rihanna is wrapping up her world tour, she is also getting some people into trouble, although inadvertently. Her post on twitter has gotten a Thai Sex show owner arrested for promoting lewd performances, reports the Sydney Morning Herald. She apparently visited the show while on her break from the tour to Thailand.
"Either I was phuck wasted lastnight, or I saw a Thai woman pull a live bird,2 turtles, razors, shoot darts and ping pong, all out of her pu$y. The birds feathers were all damp! Lol. Only in #Thailand," she tweeted.
