Warner Bros. to Refund 'Batman: Arkham Knight' on PC

"Batman: Arkham Knight's" PC port failed to deliver and after being removed from digital stores after its re-released on Oct. 28, Warner Bros. has finally waved the white flag. The game was entirely broken at launch, with too many bugs, which simply cannot be ignored. Fixing it would take about four months, web magazine Engadget reported.

The game was originally released on June 23 and re-released late last month due to performance issues. According to Screenrant, "Despite critical acclaim on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, technical difficulties still plague Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's forays on PC versions of the title." Issues encountered include stuttering to crashing and unreliable FPS, even for people running the game on high-end video cards.

Unfortunately for Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros., this is not the first time they have encountered issues porting the Batman games as the same thing happened way back in 2011, having the same performance issues when Direct11 was enabled, which, according to reports, was rooted from a 12-man team from Iron Galaxy Studios porting the game from console to PC.

The details of the refund was provided by Warner Bros. on Steam's community page, notes by Engadget. "Batman: Arkham Knight" season pass is only qualified for a refund with the main game and players have to take note that they cannot return the DLC separately. Those who purchased a retail copy of the game seem not eligible either because they are reporting that the page does not load for them. However, there is nothing to worry about because those who choose not to or are not able to take advantage of the refund, Warner Bros. promises to continue to work on the  game but the company was upfront enough to say that  some issues may not be fixed at all.

The result of the fixes is yet to be seen but unless you are one of the lucky few PC gamers, wherein the games runs perfectly well, it is best to opt for a refund.
