Jemima Kirke, who is best known for playing 'Jessa Johansson' in the racy HBO series 'Girls,' has reportedly purchased a Brownstone in Caroll Gardens, Brooklyn, for $2.03 million, according to some news reports.
Kirke purchased the residence under the name of Jemima Kirke Household Trust. The residence was not publicly listed and the sale was pretty private. The home last sold two years ago for $1.6 million. It was listed on the market in 2011 briefly and taken down, reports The New York Observer.
When the house was last listed, records stated that the multifamily townhouse was a 3360 square feet, three bedroom duplex condo. One photo of the home showed hardwood flooring and glass windows.
Kirke is not the only star from the 'Girls' franchise to shack up in Brooklyn. In 2012, creator Lena Dunham reportedly picked up a one bed-one bath, 800 square foot apartment for about $500,000. More recently, Dunham was spotted looking at a larger three-bedroom penthouse in Williamsburg, North Brooklyn.
"This is one of the best apartments in the entire borough. It's a lot of apartment for a single girl. She could have some serious parties," an insider who spotted Dunham in the building said to the Daily News.
While the Girls stars are settling their real estate issues, they are also filming the third season of the show. The series got renewed for a third instalment after the first two seasons received widespread appreciation and popularity.
According to the Daily Beast, Girls was named the best show on HBO for 2012.
"Ultimately, Girls is achingly original, the sort of television show that comes around but once in a decade, embodying a singular vision and pitch-perfectly capturing a voice. Whether it represents, as Hannah suggests of her in-progress novel, the voice of a generation remains to be seen, but it's a voice that's not afraid to be unique, to shout at the top of its lungs that it has arrived, and to remind us all of what it means to be young."
Season 3 is slated for a 2014 release. However, the premiere date has not been determined yet.
