Luxury Hotels: Igloo-topped French Alps Hotels Opens This Winter, Plus Rent an Igloo in Finland and See the Northern Lights

A new five-star hotel in the Savoie region of France is set to attract a lot of guests this winter season as it opens in December. The ski resort Hotel Pashmina features a glass igloo on the top of its roof, which is said to be the new luxury hotel's star attraction.

According to Malay Mail Online, the luxury hotel is located at an altitude of 2,300 meters and is set to offer an extraordinary mountain experience along with lavish facilities and services. It features 42 rooms and suites and also offers a new range of accommodations dubbed "Cosy Home." Cosy Home measures a total of 60 to 155 square meters and has eight living spaces with up to three rooms and a living area.

Along with the rooms and suites, Hotel Pashmina also offers two three-storey apartment chalets connected to the luxury hotel. The chalets can accommodate up to eight guests.

According to the site, the mountain hotel's all-glass igloo on the roof allows guests to enjoy a night under the stars and amidst beautiful mountain views. Other hotel facilities include a spa with sauna, steam room, pool and Jacuzzi as well as various restaurants. Hotel Pashmina is set to open on Dec. 5.

Meanwhile, another hotel in Finland offers a similar experience with its futuristic glass igloo. D'Marge reports that Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort, located in Finnish Lapland, 250 km north of the Arctic Circle, allows guests to enjoy the sights of Northern Lights before they sleep.

According to the site, the resort started out as a cabin which was turned into a café and has now evolved into a luxury accommodation. The luxury resort's glass igloos feature a toilet and shower as well as an extra bed. Queen suites, log cabins and wedding chambers are also available. The luxury property is reportedly especially intended for romantic getaways.
