'Friday the 13th' Slasher Jason Voorhees Comes to 'Mortal Kombat X' Mobile

"Mortal Kombat X," the popular fighting video game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. has an Android and iOS versions. And just recently, its roster was updated to include a legendary sinister character.

According to GameSpot, the masked murderer who has been the mainstay of "Friday the 13th" series has just been added to "Mortal Kombat X" mobile version as a playable character. The addition was officially announced by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Jason Voorhees has already been added in the console version of the fighting game.

His arrival was just in time for Halloween. Moreover, players on mobile can play with Jason through the Jason Challenge and the Jason Multiplayer Season. A video of sample gameplay can be played below.

"Mortal Kombat X" is free-to-play for iOS and Android devices that combines fighting and card-battling. It was released at the same time as the console and PC versions. According to Den of Geek, like the console version, Jason's three playable forms are Slasher, Relentless and Unstoppable.

In the meantime, NetherRealm is still keeping a tight lid on the additional characters that will be added with the upcoming DLC. According to Yibada, Drahmin and Havik are two of the rumored playable characters coming to "Mortal Kombat X" alongside two iconic characters. Others say that Rain and Baraka will be unlocked since both are NPCs at the moment.

In another news, it was reported that Todd McFarlene has given his permission for Spawn to be included in the popular fighting game. But fans don't think spawn will be included since the previously released teaser of the four mysterious characters did not suggest the presence of Spawn.

While fans wait for more updates on the DLC, they can download "Mortal Kombat X" for mobile on iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and Android devices.
