'Arrow' Season 4 Spoilers & Cast Updates: EP Confirms Damien Darhk Is Not Felicity Smoak's Father; Fans Angry After Seeing Obvious Connections?

"Arrow" executive producer Wendy Mericle recently confirmed that Damien Darhk is not Felicity Smoak's father.

In an interview with Comicbook, Mericle said that even though there seems to be an obvious connection between the two, Felicity and Damien are not related.

"That's a great idea, and such a great teaser, I almost don't want to spoil it. Unfortunately, no. Damien Darhk is not her father. That's a great theory. Who knows! You guys might have just arc-ed out the rest of the season for us right then and there!" she said.

Meanwhile, fans were reportedly unhappy to hear about Mericle's explanation because a lot of them thought that revealing Damien as Felicity's father is an interesting storyline. With this, Mericle told fans to not worry because Felicity's real dad will be introduced in the upcoming episodes of "Arrow" Season 4. The executive producer added that Felicity's father will be revealed as a new villainous character on the show.

"We are going to bring her father in. He will definitely be evil. He's going to be up to no good, but it's not going to be Damien, unfortunately. Great idea though. Huge props to everyone there. That's amazing," she said.

In other news, Stephen Amell recently spoke with TV Line to reveal that Oliver Queen has become much closer to Felicity's mom.

"I had always imagined that Oliver in his nice, easy-going state would have a dialogue with Donna Smoak, which was proven correct and leads to some funny moments. The dynamic between the two of them is excellent," he said.

While speaking with the publication, Emily Bett Rickards confirmed that Felicity doesn't know anything about her father.

"I don't know anything about my dad except that he's probably going to be a villain and he's rich and that he comes in this season," she said.

"Arrow" Season 4 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
