Deftones New Album Confirms 2016 Release: Chino Moreno Reveals Morrisey as Vital Influence on the Record [Video]

Deftones fans are thrilled upon hearing that their favorite band is making a comeback by next year. It was originally reported that their album would be released last month, but it didn't however push though. As per Radio.com website, their new album will finally be released by 2016.

As per NME, after much delay, the band seem relived stating that they we're able to take time to record "for the first time ever."

In one of their interviews with Morning Blaze, Frank Delgado, the keyboardist stated: "It's going to come out in the new year... We had some dates that were already kind of tentative."

The drummer, Abe Cunningham then added:

"It's being mixed now. It started being mixed a couple weeks back. They're actually going tomorrow to go down and listen to mixes and do things and... We're mixing and we still are in the process of album title, artwork, song titles. We haven't even got there yet, but the music's done."

The new album will be the first, after the death of their bass player Chi Cheng back in 2013. Their last album with the bassist was "Koi No Yokan" which was released last 2012.

During his interview with NME, Chino Moreno, the band's frontman described the "sound of their LP as out of the box." He then added "full of keyboards and a lot of cool, spacey low frequencies" as well as "organic jams".

Aside from sharing on what the album is about, he dished out that the former "The Smiths" frontman, Morrissey played a vital influence on the record.

"I've been on this crazy Morrissey kick recently - totally obsessing over his solo records - so I brought a lot of that to the table, on those early solo records, he uses this awesome, Elvis-y delay on his vocal that I've been ripping off a ton. He's always been a favorite lyricist of mine - the beautiful poetic melancholy of it all."
