Lamar Odom's condition is getting better, however, his recovery is becoming more controversial. Lamar is reportedly off dialysis and out of the intensive care unit. With such good improvements happening comes something deeper to worry about.
Radar Online learned that the NBA star is asking his doctors for stronger pain medications which include Oxycontin. A source revealed that, "Lamar was moved out of ICU earlier this week because of the progress that has been made. He is no longer on dialysis. But there are concerns because Lamar has been asking for copious amounts of pain medication, including Oxycontin."
However, it has been reported that Lamar's doctors are having problems granting his request considering that he had struggled with drug abuse for a long time. It is important for Odom's pain to be treated accordingly but they are careful with his history.
The source explained that, "It's a dilemma for the doctors because the pain has to be treated."
But given his history with drug abuse, the doctors were "trying to give him other pain medications that aren't as powerful. However, Lamar complains that it's not strong enough."
Meanwhile, Life and Style revealed that Khloe Kardashian, Lamar's wife who stayed by her estranged husband's side since the incident happened up to his recovery felt "disgusted" that Lamar continued to ask for stronger pain medications.
The source said that "Khloe hasn't been at the hospital this week," and added that, "She is keeping her distance, but checks in with Lamar's doctors."
According to Latin Post, there are reports that came out that Lamar called one of his "drug dealer" friends to visit him in the hospital. Khloe was said to be heartbroken after such news came out and she can't believe that he will go through it all over again.
The source said that "Lamar tried to deny it, but Khloé has heard it all before ... and she knew he was lying."
